Timisoara, 15th of March, 2010:
Starting with 29th of March, 2010 a new service BUS & FLY will be offered by Carpatair on Arad - Timisoara - Arad route.
This bus service is especially dedicated to passengers wishing to travel on the domestic and international routes operated by Carpatair through its hub in Timisoara. The flight schedule was also designed to provide the best connections to the whole Carpatair flight network. Thus, there will be 2 daily services, Monday thru Saturday, from Arad to Timisoara and back.

Travel time is one hour and 20 minutes and the bus will only make one additional stop for boarding or disembarking passengers. The departure point is the Continental Hotel in the center of Arad, with one stop at Hotel President. Subsequently, the arrival is at the airports Domestic Terminal in Timisoara. For transfers from Timisoara to Arad, departure is in front of the Carpatair Flight Training building with arrivals in Arad at Continental Hotel and an additional stop at the Hotel President.
Reservations and ticket purchasing for BUS & FLY is identical to any other Carpatair flight, before the trip, through the website www.carpatair.com, Carpatair Call Center or at any IATA accredited travel agency. The new Arad-Timisoara route is published in all reservation systems as a flight segment, but with the specification bus listed under the equipment tab. Prices, both for travel between Arad and Timisoara and for transit to Carpatair final destinations, are published in all reservation systems. Passengers will receive an electronic ticket that will also include the bus operated segment. Furthermore, through this service, Carpatair offers its passengers from Arad the possibility to connect to partner flights such as Tarom, Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines. As mentioned above, bookings and tickets can be made through the company’s website www.carpatair.com, through Carpatair Call Center or through any IATA accredited travel agency. Since the fares are published for departures / arrivals in Arad, passengers can travel the entire route with a single electronic ticket.

Fares for departures from Arad to any Carpatair flight from Timisoara on international routes start from 49 euro plus taxes and for domestic flights from 15 euro plus taxes!
Check-in formalities, Boarding and Baggage:

• Check in:
- For the bus directly with the driver according to passenger list and based on an identification document only for the Arad-Timisoara segment
- For the connecting flight from Timisoara check-in is done at the Carpatair check-in desk in Timisoara airport
• Bags will be weighed, labelled and registered only in Timisoara for connecting passengers at the Carpatair check-in desks |
• Passengers landing in Timisoara from Carpatair or partner flights that have tickets purchased in advance will get the boarding pass for the bus service Timisoara - Arad upon their departure from Timisoara. If for any reason issuance of the boarding pass was not possible passengers are asked to present at Carpatair check-in desks for registration.
• Passengers departing only from Timisoara have to be present at the check-in counters to receive their boarding pass for the bus service
• Passengers in transit at Timisoara will have to collect their bags even if these are labelled for final destination in Arad and take them to the bus. There is no through check of bags from/to flights due to legal customs and security reasons.
• For passengers embarking directly from Timisoara, bags will be tagged and registered at the Carpatair check-in desks, but will have to be taken by the passenger to the bus. |
