Nicolae Petrov
Nicolae Petrov is the founder of Carpatair and Moldavian Airlines. He started his career in aviation as air force instructor pilot after graduating in 1987 “Kacha”, the most famous fighter pilots school in Soviet Union. He gained experience in both commercial and operational areas being involved in early stages of creation of the civil aviation state structures of Republic of Moldova and also while representing the newly established state airline Air Moldova in Bucharest, Romania.
In 1993 Nicolae Petrov and a few fellow pilots set up Moldavian – Air Service™ travel agency and thereafter in 1994, the airline Moldavian Airlines.
In 1999, the sister airline Carpatair was set up in Romania. Nicolae Petrov's vision was instrumental in consolidating the company position on the southeast European market.

Paula Ardelean
Born in 1972, Paula Ardelean joined Carpatair in 2000 after acquiring experience in marketing and ticketing as a travel agency manager. She has a degree in economics and marketing. As Vice-President Sales and Marketing, Paula Ardelean is in charge with the network planning and schedules, flight services, market research, marketing and pricing, income and revenue management, interline agreements, sales department (call center, ticketing offices). Paula's exceptional service mentality, solid commercial knowledge accompanied by dedication and hardworking, are essential to Carpatair success.

Chief Finance Officer
Victor Mitrofan
Born in 1974, with an MBA at Newport University USA, International Study Centre Benelux, and several additional training courses on competitiveness and productivity, business valuation attended in USA, Japan, Belgium and Moldova, Victor Mitrofan is appointed Vice-President Finance with Carpatair in 2005. Although a relatively young member of the Carpatair managerial team, he comes with an already strongly built regional work experience in countries like Bosnia, Armenia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan, being specialized in financial analysis, business planning, financial forecasting/modeling, financial management & control systems. Before joining Carpatair, Victor worked as financial director, deputy executive director, project manager and financial manager. Within Carpatair, Victor Mitrofan is responsible for the corporate budgeting, organization and activities of the financial department among others including revenue accounting. Victor brought necessary rigor and precision to company's budgeting and reporting.

Valeriu Harcovei
Born in 1965, Valeriu Harcovei joined Carpatair in 1999 as a legal counsel. Since 2005, Valeriu acts as Vice-President Fleet Management. Since July 2008, Valeriu Harcovei is also appointed Vice-President Maintenance / Accountable Manager for PART 145 and Part M organizations. He is licensed in Law and worked as Legal Adviser for 4 years before joining Carpatair. He further studied in New York at the School of International Aircraft Finance, Willis London, and Open University UK. As Chief Legal and Asset Officer, he is in charge of all legal and compliance matters. His business and legal judgment is a valuable asset to the company.

Dorel Batovski
Born in 1966, Dorel Batovski started his flying career as a military pilot in Romanian Air Forces. In parallel with his main activity, he studied and graduated Law. In 2004, after completing civil pilot training and obtaining the necessary civil license, Dorel joined Carpatair. He had a very good professional track serving as co-pilot on both types of SAAB aircraft, as pilot-in-command, as type-rating instructor and type-rating examiner.
Accountable, dedicated and responsible, Dorel Batovski has been serving as flight safety officer since January 2007, when he was in charge for monitoring the application of safety standards and ensuring the oversight of operational activity. Recently, he has been actively involved in the adoption of the SMS concept (Safety Management System) into the company’s standards and procedures as per the latest requirements of the Romanian Civil Aviation Authority and in the industry. In January 2010, he has been appointed as COO (Vice-President Operations).
