Nicolae Petrov

Born in 1966, Nicolae Petrov, founder of Carpatair, current President&CEO, is a pilot who felt compelled to create an airline in order to continue his flying career.

In September 2007, Nicolae Petrov was appointed Honorary Consul of Sweden in Romania.
Dr. Georg Robert Wiederkehr
MEMBER of the Board
Born in 1938 in Zurich, Dr. Georg Wiederkehr graduated the University of Lausanne and Zurich as attorney-at-law and obtained the Doctor's degree in 1976.
He joined the Zurich and Swiss Bar Association in 1978. Since that year, he has been a partner of the law firm Wiederkehr Forster in Zurich, which in 2008 merged into the new law firm Bratschi Wiederkehr & Buob.
Dr. Georg Wiederkehr is the Honorary Consul General of Iceland in Switzerland; he has Board membership in various Swiss and international companies and organizations, such as ERA (European Regions Airline Association), being also its legal counsel, and since 2004 until june 2009, he has been the Chairman of Carpatair Board of Directors.
Moritz Suter
Member of the Board
Moritz Suter was born in 1943 in Basel, Switzerland. He obtained his Private Pilot License and after school graduation, he qualified for his Airline Transport Pilot License. He worked as a professional pilot for Luxair and Swiss Air between 1965 and 1982. In 1975 he founded Crossair, a successful Swiss regional airline company, changing its name into Swiss International Air Lines in 2002. Moritz Suter is a shareholder of Moldavian Airlines and Carpatair. He is the founder of European Regions Airline Association (ERA) whose honorary president he is at present. In December 2003, he set up a small airline, “Hello”, operating charter flights. Moritz Suter is an expert in development strategies and is considered to be a pioneer of European regional aviation.

Johannes Stenberg

Johannes Stenberg was born in 1951 in a small village in Småland, Sweden. After studies in Law and Languages at the University of Lund, he spent two years in Tokyo, then two additional years in Singapore to develop the market in Indonesia for a Swedish family company, Tetra Pak. After a period of travel and work in the Middle East, West Africa, the United States, and Russia, in 1997 Johannes joined IKEA, the Swedish furniture company born not far away from his own birth place, starting up the first IKEA stores in Moscow.
For a few years, he has been living in Switzerland, working as personal adviser to the founder of IKEA, Mr. Ingvar Kamprad.
Ion Caliman

Ion Caliman was born in 1959 in Republic of Moldova. He graduated the Polytechnic Institute in Chisinau in 1980. His career in civil aviation began in 1993, when, together with Nicolae Petrov, created a travel agency, Moldavian – Air Service™. In 1994, they set up “Moldavian Airlines” in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova. At present, Ion Caliman is Vice President of Moldavian Airlines and a member of Carpatair Board of Directors.
URS Wickihalder
SECRETARY of the Board
Born in 1975 in Zurich, Dr. Urs Wickihalder graduated at the University of Zurich (Doctor’s degree) and at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LL.M. European Law), and was admitted to the Bar in Zurich in 2002. Dr. Urs Wickihalder is currently working as a lawyer in the law firm Bratschi Wiederkehr & Buob, and he is member of the Board of Directors of several Swiss Companies as well as of the Foundation Councils of charitable foundations.
